Position: LEAD BOOKKEEPER / ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR

Location: Lyndhurst, Ohio

COMPANY AND POSITION OVERVIEW:

FOSS Business Solutions, located in Lyndhurst, Ohio, is searching for a Lead Bookkeeper / Accounting Supervisor to assist with client production and business growth.

FOSS is the accounting and finance department for several small businesses in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. FOSS is a rapidly growing agency that provides affordable bookkeeping through Chief Financial Officer (CFO) services for small businesses that require a higher level of experience and skill without the costs of hiring and managing employees. Our mission is to help strengthen and grow small businesses and to allow small business owners to stay focused on their core competencies and passions.  Because of our unique experience, FOSS delivers the right service at the right time in a way that small business owners understand and can afford.

This newly created role is a hands-on position and will report directly to the Controller. This position has significant opportunity for advancement, professional development, and growth.  This position requires high productivity and through-put serving FOSS Business Solutions and its clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform data entry and bookkeeping for client base;
* Assist Controller with producing accurate and timely financial statements for multiple clients;
* Assist Controller with month end closings for multiple clients;
* Maintain Fixed Assets for clients including associated depreciation schedules;
* Ensure proper recording of new purchases, transfers & disposals;
* Provide full cycle A/P & A/R for client base including bill payment processing & collections;
* Prepare multiple monthly bank reconciliations;
* Prepare & distribute 1099’s to clients’ vendors annually;
* Special projects and company support as required. 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

* Associate's Degree in Business and/or Accounting preferred
* Highly proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Excel required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* 3+ years of general ledger accounting / bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks;
* Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with accrual basis accounting methods;
* Professional presentation & conduct working with internal and external clients;
* Solid analytical skills and proactive problem solving skills;
* Accountability:  Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for actions; 
* Confidentiality: With proprietary information and all internal and external information;
* Team oriented:  Positive and professional, able to show consideration for others; 
* Ability to interact with all levels throughout our clients’ businesses.
* Exceptional organizational & time management skills;

* Ability to multi task; able to work on multiple projects in the same time period.  
* Complete projects and responsibilities with extreme attention to detail according to required timelines and deadlines, along with capacity to work under pressure to create accurate results;
